Faculty Association and CMU negotiations

Central Michigan University and the Faculty Association, which represents about 650 tenured and tenure-track professors at the university, went through a tense seven-month period of contract negotiations last year.

Though the FA ratified a slightly modified version of the university’s “last, best offer,” it has refused to release the vote counts and some of its members are chafing at the terms of the long-debated deal. What will come of their discontent remains to be seen.—
