Central Michigan University is covered in fuzz. A person can rarely walk through campus without encountering a guy sporting some kind of facial hair. Perhaps it is because of recent trends and Mount Pleasant's frigid temperatures. Whether a man has a goatee, a mustache, sideburns or a full beard, the people around him are going to react to it.
'Definitely Maybe' defies romantic comedy formula

In the midst of all the romantic comedy movies that have been released in 2008, "Definitely, Maybe" stands above as the best so far. Starring Ryan Reynolds as political consultant Will Hayes and Abigail Breslin as his daughter Maya, "Definitely, Maybe" does not follow the typical "boy meets girl and falls in love" romantic comedy formula.

I have a beard. And I'm OK with it. The problem is, most of society is not. Since I've started growing my beard, people have compared me to a lumberjack, a member of the Amish community, and that one dude from Iron and Wine (whose beard I appreciate more than his music).

The weekend marked one of the first times in months that Mount Pleasant saw the sun shine. Temperatures peaked to a near 50 degrees, melting the ice that covered campus sidewalks. It was almost warm outside. But just as quickly as my hopes began to soar, as soon as the snow and ice finally melted away, a fresh batch of white flurries dusted mid-Michigan.

From plain black to sparkly, over-the-top shoes, no two pairs are exactly alike. Within the past couple seasons, shoe styles have transformed to become more daring. Stilettos have become thicker, taking them from thin sticks to wedge-style shoes. "I've noticed that there are a lot of wedge high heels," said Saginaw junior Sarah Strudgeon, an apparel and merchandising design student.

Students hold auditions for first film

Michael Miserendino walked out of his BCA 210: Survey of Mass Media class last year after a screening for a movie and thought, "I can do this." The Shelby Township sophomore, who has been writing a script for a film titled "A Name for Myself" since he got to college, is working on the production on his first full-length film.
'Cyrano' opens today with three-person cast

Contemporary rock music combined with a classic play makes "Cyrano" a unique modern day love story. Cyrano combines the present with the 1640s and has a cast of three students, each providing their own sound effects. Quentin Crump, Nora "Rose" Burnstad and Scott Freeman are the entire cast.
