Dan LeFevour already has etched his name amongst the best in CMU football history.
The sophomore quarterback's record-setting six-touchdown performance Saturday against Army at Kelly/Shorts Stadium proved that. As did his 15-yard touchdown pass to junior Justin Hoskins, which bested Jeff Bender's school career record of 38. CMU improved to 4-3 overall and remained 3-0 in the Mid-American Conference with a 47-23 win.
With 12 touchdowns in two games, LeFevour's impact has been profound.
And now, he's getting recognized for it.
LeFevour is one of five candidates for USA Today's National Player of the Week award.
Fans can vote until noon Tuesday on the USA Today's Web site. Fan votes make up one-third of the award with other votes going to USA Today football editor Erick Smith and Gannett columnist Mike Lopresti.
LeFevour became a nominee by completing 30-of-39 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for four more in CMU's victory against the Black Knights (4-3).
