Sex is a favorite topic for many college students.
But tonight, students have a chance to direct their questions to experts.
Safer Sex Patrol is sponsoring an open forum where students can ask questions about sexual health at 7 p.m. in the Bovee University Center Auditorium.
"It's the first program that SSP has put on that is different from the patrols," said Linsey Grove, SSP student coordinator and Montgomery junior. "It's basically an open panel discussion. We'll have a physician from University Health Services, the director of pregnancy services, as well as a member of (Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates)."
Students will be able to ask questions publicly or anonymously.
"If they're embarrassed, they can ask on a piece of paper that we'll read out loud," Grove said.
Health Services physician Sarah Yonder will be at the event to answer students' questions.
Yonder said there are a lot of misconceptions about sexual health.
"Some still consider the topic taboo. Questions don't get asked until it's too late or the wrong information gets disseminated," she said.
Yonder said she deals with a lot of sexual health-related issues.
"Many of them revolve around screening for sexually transmitted infections, treatments, education about STIs and prevention," she said.
In addition to the panel discussion, there will be a raffle for certificates and T-shirts and a number of condoms in a jar guessing game.
Grove said the winner of the game will receive a portion of the condoms in the jar.
Safer Sex Patrol's superhero, Captain Condom, also will be at the event.
"I'll be dressed up as Captain Condom," said Jaime Leyrer, Saginaw sophomore and SSP's student community organization liaison. "Students will be able to get their pictures taken with me."
Leyrer said she is resurrecting the Captain Condom character after a couple years of retirement.
"I didn't see it come out at all last year and I'm a sophomore this year," she said. "As far as I know, it hasn't been brought out for a couple years, so it'll be a nice debut."

Isn't it sad, no wait, pathetic, that people college-aged have to be subjected to this kind of stuff?
What I mean is, that college-aged students are how old, and they have to be presented basics about sex at that age and in that forum? I thought this type of stuff was what sex-ed was for in high school, or even a day in health class briefly in junior high? Wow how low we've fallen in just a few years, coddling people in this age group, making it necessary for things like this. (Continued…)
