Sports Studies Major

Career Services is sponsoring an event from 4 to 5 p.m. today in the Bovee University Center Lake Michigan Room. Students can learn about the types of job opportunities available to sports studies graduates. Representatives from the department and Career Services will be available to talk to students and answer questions.



Twister Fest

Raising money for MS

Students in the class RPL 430: Recreation Programming are sponsoring a giant game of Twister from 7 to 10 p.m. today in the field between Finch Fieldhouse and the Health Professions Building. Tickets in the form of buttons can be purchased for $3 before the event or $4 at the door. All proceeds will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation. MS is believed to be an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system and impacts each patient differently. Participants will start on a large Twister board which will become smaller as players are eliminated. The grand prize winner will receive two tickets to a Detroit Lions game. There also will be food, raffles and giveaways.



Michigan's economy

Forum will discuss how to find work after school

Campus Conservatives will sponsor a forum from 7:30 to 9 p.m. today in the Charles V. Park Library Auditorium. It will be a moderated discussion focusing on Michigan's economy and how students can find jobs after graduation. The panelists include: state Rep. Jack Hoogendyk, state Rep. Rick Jones, state Rep. candidate Paul Scott and Lawrence W. Reed, president of Mackinac Center for Public Policy.



Climbing Wall

$5 at Finch Fieldhouse for fall semester

The Recreation, Parks and Leisure Services Administration department offers open climbing on the indoor climbing wall from 5 to 9 p.m. on Mondays and from 8 to 11 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the fall semester in Finch Fieldhouse Room 112. There is a $5 fee to climb and an additional fee to rent equipment. Participants must sign a consent and release waiver and participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign the waiver. There are student staff members on-hand to assist climbers. Call 774-1425 for more information.
