CMU has named David Burdette as the vice president of finance and administrative services.
Burdette replaces George Ross, who was named president of Alcorn State University in Mississippi.
Burdette will begin his post Jan. 7.
"The university was pleased to have a strong group of candidates for this position," said CMU President Michael Rao in the press release. "I am impressed with David Burdette's commitment to CMU's strategic plan. He demonstrates a clear understanding of the university's priorities of teaching and learning, diversity and global perspectives, research and creativity, public service, and integrity, and how the budget relates to those endeavors."
