Native Americans should no longer suffer acts of discrimination

When I arrived on campus the evening of Oct. 7, I entered the Multicultural Education Center and was greeted by a student from the Native American Indigenous Student Organization. The student shared with me a flier that was found under the door earlier that day.

Last Monday, Dr. Pamela Gates was confronted by a man who has displayed increasingly hostile behavior toward members of the University community. Dennis Lennox came to her office to harass her, and refused to leave. When Mr. Lennox thrust a camera in her face, her understandable reaction was to deflect it.

Keeping an eye out

The football team used to have a big black cloud over it.

As the Athletics Department moved on, one would think it would keep a close eye on what its athletes - particularly high-profile ones - are doing. But that doesn't seem to be the case. The Athletics Department was unaware of former defensive lineman De'Onte Burnam's prior arrests before his dismissal from the program.

Chip Away Malaria shows the good a group of people can do

There are 1,000 people in Africa who will be safer because of CMU students. Chip Away Malaria, a registered student organization, raised $10,000 for a charity called "Nothing But Nets," which buys mosquito nets for families to help battle malaria, a disease transmitted by mosquitoes.
