Graffiti on Bovee pointless

Who knows if Jesus hated iPods, God doesn't like cowards?

Students on campus learned something this past weekend.

Jesus has a distaste for iPods.

He not only dislikes iPods, but hates them.

And "hate" is such a strong word to use.

Especially in today's society, why spread more hatred around? Would Jesus even approve of this?

No. Chances are he would be striving for peace among iPoders and non-iPoders alike, not starting drama between the two.

Because at one point in time, and not that long ago, we were all non-iPoders.

Together we walked the sidewalks of this campus without the sound of music to accompany us. Instead we took in the sounds of a college campus, one of cars honking horns at students crossing the streets and overheard conversations of drunken acts at a party the previous night.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Jesus love unconditionally?

So can he really hate something?

And would Jesus be so petty as to claim his hatred for an inanimate object?

Probably not.

On top of that, would Jesus approve malicious destruction of property?

The act of spray-painting a building with "Jesus hates your iPods" doesn't really match up with his other feats - curing blindness, turning water into wine or even rising from the dead.

Personally, I think Jesus could do better. And whomever felt it was necessary to spray paint the Bovee University Center last weekend might want to say an extra prayer tonight and ask for forgiveness.

iPods aren't even that bad. So what if the majority of the population walks around campus in their own little iPod-world of music? It doesn't give reason to damage the Bovee U.C. with spray paint.

But iPods weren't the only things taking a hit last weekend. Apparently God hates cowards.

Cowards, really?

Isn't it cowardly to write messages on the side of a building and not take credit for it? Isn't it cowardly not to stand up and say what you believe in to people's faces and accept the consequences as they come?

So in reasoning, whomever had the idea of plastering the U.C. are in fact the kind of cowards God supposedly hates.

Same as with Jesus, I think God has much more pressing issues to deal with than condemning cowards on Central Michigan University's campus.

Unless the coward issue is one that is popping up throughout all universities in Michigan, CMU doesn't really stand out among its peers as having more cowards than any other institute for education.

And who knows, if Jesus had a Facebook profile, he might have "listening to his iPod" as one of his interests.
