Final: CMU 31, WMU 7
Rain and frigid temperatures couldn't keep CMU from dominating WMU in a win at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The win clinched the Mid-American Conference West Division for Central and punched its ticket to the MAC Championship game.
With CMU leading 10-7, Dan Bazuin sacked Broncos quarterback Ryan Cubit, forcing a fumble the Chippewas would recover. The turnover set up the first of three touchdowns for Marcel Archer as the Chippewas never looked back.

Final: WMU 31, CMU 24
After jumping out to an early 14-0 lead, the Chippewas couldn't find an answer for WMU's offensive attack led by quarterback Tim Hiller. CMU allowed 31 consecutive points in a loss to the Broncos at Waldo Stadium.
Despite the loss, quarterback Kent Smith set CMU records for the pass attempts (70), pass completions (46) and passing yards (460).

It took an improbable comeback effort on the behalf of the Chippewas. Two late CMU touchdowns forced overtime, and CMU went on to win its first game against Western since 2000 with a 25-yard field goal.
In overtime, WMU kicker Robert Mechinger missed a 40-yard field goal that would have given the Broncos a 3-point lead. The miss set up a 25-yard winning field goal from CMU walk-on kicker Ronnie Budd.

The Broncos broke numerous school records on their way to an easy win against the Chippewas, pounding CMU in total yards with 491 yards.
Wide receiver Greg Jennings led Western with three touchdowns for 204 yards, including a spectacular 94-yard touchdown grab in double coverage.

Final: WMU 35, CMU 10
A 3-3 tie in the first quarter was broken by 24 consecutive WMU points as the Broncos defeated the Chippewas on the road for the first time since 1973.
Despite turning the ball over just once to the Broncos' four, the Chippewas used three quarterbacks to complete just 8-of-21 passes.
WMU returned a punt 67 yards for a touchdown, followed by a two-point conversion on a botched snap to end the scoring.
