The "Krazy Kats" beat out the "Dirty Dawgs" during "Friendly Feud: A Cause for Paws" at The Cabin, 930 W. Broomfield Road.
Sterling Heights senior and Krazy Kats member Kelly Milgie correctly answered the competition's last questions, winning $105 for her and her two roommates.
"I'm going to spend my money celebrating with my wonderful teammates," Milgie said.
At the event, groups of three students competed in a "Family Feud"-style game to raise money for Humane Animal Treatment Society.
Contestants were quizzed on their CMU and college culture knowledge.
The event raffled various prizes including Detroit Red Wings tickets, T-shirts featuring country singer Kenny Chesney and gift certificates to local businesses.
Organizers have not yet totaled the amount raised.
Commerce Township junior Laura Tune helped coordinate the event and said she was pleased with the event's turnout. Eight teams competed in the single elimination-style tournament.
"I looked up and was like, holy crap, there is a lot of people here," Tune said.
Five students in the RPL 430: Recreation Programming class created the event to raise money for HATS.
HATS is dedicated to helping animals receive proper care and strengthening others' knowledge about animals through fundraisers for the Isabella County Animal Shelter, community activities and events.
Dan Radatz, Swartz Creek sophomore and game show host, reminded the crowd of the significance of the event.
"Help those little fluffy creatures that can't help themselves," he said.
