Monday, Nov. 17, 1975

The football team beat Northern Illinois 69-7 in the season finale at Perry/Shorts Stadium.

The Chippewas outgained the Huskies 431-135 on the ground and 550-203 in total yards.

Running back Walt Hodges ran for 185 yards and three touchdowns, giving him more than 1,000 yards for the season.

CMU (8-2-1 Overall, 4-1-1 Mid-American Conference) went on to finish second in the MAC behind Miami (6-0).


At the men's cross country qualifying meet, senior Dave Hinz qualified for the NCAA national championships.

Hinz finished the race in 31 minutes, 4 seconds to finish 16th. He earned the spot by finishing in the top 10 individually, not including the runners qualifying through the team qualification.

The team finished 10th overall.



Monday, Nov. 14, 1983

The football team kept its California Bowl hopes alive Nov. 12 at Ball State with a 38-10 win against the Cardinals.

The key to game was the CMU's running attack, which ran for 300 yards compared to Ball State's 98. Tailback Curtis Adams ran for 191 yards and three touchdowns.


The volleyball team beat Eastern Michigan twice during the weekend to finish out its season.

CMU beat EMU 15-12, 15-2, 15-6 on Saturday and 15-7, 15-4, 15-11 on Friday. Senior Karen Bitz combined for 67 assists during the two matches weekend.


Monday, Nov. 17, 1997

The volleyball team beat Ohio, 3-1, Nov. 15 in Rose Arena in its season finale.

Junior Wendy Feldman set a MAC record with 5.63 kills per game during the season. She also ended the season with 512 kills, a CMU record.

CMU won the first game, 16-4, lost the second and won the final two, 15-0, 15-9.


The women's basketball team beat Saint Louis 73-55 on Nov. 15 at Rose Arena in its season opener.

Senior Kerry Nora led the Chippewas with 24 points, while Shelly Wood with 13.

CMU outrebounded Saint Louis 38-25. Nora led CMU with seven.
