Women's basketball coach Sue Guevara enjoyed having Angela Jackson on the sideline with her at Michigan a few years ago.
Now, Guevara will go head-to-head with her former assistant at 2 p.m. Saturday against Chicago State at Rose Arena.
"It's been so fun to watch (Jackson) grow," Guevara said.
Guevara also attempted to recruit Jackson out of high school. The two were both assistant coaches at Michigan State before Jackson served as an assistant under Guevara at Michigan.
Now Guevara is proud to watch Jackson, who is in her sixth season at the helm of the CSU program.
"I have a great deal of respect for the job she has done at Chicago State, and I look forward to seeing her," Guevara said.
Chicago State makes the trip to Mount Pleasant after handing CMU a 78-64 loss last season. Chicago State won its first game of the season last weekend against Mid-American Conference opponent Northern Illinois, 64-57.
