Jackson
The final candidate to visit CMU lives and breathes affirmative action.
"Affirmative action is my life, it's what I've done all my life," Jackson said. "I need to be with an institution that takes it seriously."
Jackson is the interim director of Wayne State University's office of equal opportunity and has worked as an equal employment opportunity specialist for the Detroit Medical Center.
She also is CEO and president of her consulting firm, EEO Monitoring Consultants Inc.
Jackson said she is looking for a permanent position after having been in an interim role. Mediation is an important part of the affirmative action officer role, she said.
"When you are dealing with people who say they have a problem, you have to listen both sides and investigate," she said. "It's a very far-reaching role."

I seem to remember a ballot initiative a few months ago that mandated that the state ban AA programs. Oh yes, it was called Prop 2 and passed with 58% of the popular vote. (Continued…)

Correction:
Proposal 2 did not end affirmative action programs. It only ended certain affirmative action programs which grant preferential treatment. (Continued…)
