Not so fond of CMU
After reading about the ruckus at CMU, I'm glad I decided to attend Michigan State University.
I'm glad I go to a school where deans don't attack students for requesting public records.
And as a taxpayer of the state of Michigan, I'm embarrassed that CMU - a school I fund - is allowing deans to get away with attacking students.

Too much waste on campus
With all the waste on campus, I cannot fathom how Central Michigan has the audacity to beg taxpayers for more money. We work hard to pay tuition and students deserve to know what their money is being spent on. There is a new group on campus called Students for Prosperity that is advocating for less waste, lower taxes and fiscal restraint. They claim that CMU and the State of Michigan are capable of tightening their belts if they really listen to grassroots activists and students like us. To make sure the state upholds their duty of protecting taxpayers, students need to get involved and send a message to Lansing.

Friday's loss disappointing
I was as disappointed as any Central fan Friday night when sophomore Andre Aguilla's 52-yard field goal attempt failed.
However, unlike many Saturday morning QBs, I am grateful that Coach Jones opted for the ill-fated field goal attempt rather than a dramatic fourth down Dan "Marino" LeFevour Hail Mary pass for the win. Why? Simply put, we needed to lose that game. It is unfair to place the blame on the shoulders of a young man who took a stupid penalty.
There is absolutely no doubt that the young man who lost his cool and ripped the helmet off of his opponent killed a beautiful drive. It was a frightening scene eerily reminiscent of an NFL game a few years ago between the Saints and Jets. With time expiring, Saints defensive lineman Kyle Turley ripped the helmet off an opponent and threw it across the field. Then, following his ejection, he threw his own helmet in disgust. The personal foul and double unsportsmanlike conduct penalties gave the Jets 45 free yards, which set up the game tying field goal. The Jets went on to win the game in OT.
I feel very bad for this young man. He doesn't deserve all of the blame for losing the game. However, he must still be held accountable for his actions. Coach Jones did the right thing by allowing his kicker to attempt an NFL level field goal that had a low probability of success.

Why was the letter from Tyler Whitney printed in CM-Life? It was nothing more than political, except it added nothing to the debate. All it showed was an ignorant look at the issue. (Continued…)

So political letters aren't supposed to be published? Is this communist China?

Just like the left trying to suppress free thought and political dissent.
