How to have fun
Although tailgating in the city of Detroit is prohibited, it should not deter students, faculty and friends from having fun before the game starts
Some of the most popular sports bars and restaurants will be open for the fans. Cheli's Chili Bar and HockeyTown Cafe will open at 9 a.m., and Greektown's famous restaurant, Fishbone's, will be open at 6:30 a.m.
Quite possibly the most convenient of choices would be to go to the Elwood Bar & Grill. The Elwood is located at the corner of Brush and Adams, in the shadow of Ford Field and Comerica Park.
Students also can purchase tickets to go to a pre-game "tailgating party" in Ford Field for $20. Each guest will receive a meal and nonalcoholic beverages.
Fans must hurry, however, because tickets for the tailgaiting party only are available until 6 tonight and can be purchased in the Athletic Ticket Office or by calling 774-3045.

How to get there
The fastest way to Ford Field from Mount Pleasant is to take U.S. 127 South to Lansing, then take I-96 East (it becomes I-275/I-96 for a little bit) to Detroit.
Take I-96 once in Detroit to I-75/Fisher Freeway north and take Exit 50 (Grand River Avenue). Take the I-75 Service drive and turn right on Brush Street. Ford Field will be on the left hand side.
Parking
Parking in the Ford Field parking deck and in Lot 4 next to the stadium should be $10-15. There are many other options for parking at the game Saturday. Parking lots around the stadium generally vary but are usually they are about $15-20, depending on where they are and who owns them.
For people willing to park a little farther away, there are some benefits. The parking lot behind the Courtyard by Marriot in the Renassance Center, just off Jefferson, reaches a maximum of $10 for a 24-hour period. From there people can take the People Mover to the Greektown exit. Rides are 50 cents. Parking farther away lets people avoid the bottlenecking around the stadium that occurs after a game.
How to follow
the rules
While it's important for students, faculty, alumni, family and friends to be as loud as possible Saturday morning, they must also make sure to stay within Ford Field's rules and policies.
As stated in the items not permitted list, banners and noise makers are not allowed and signs must be in the realm of good taste. If the sign does not comply it will be confiscated.
Bringing beverages to the game is not allowed.
