Out-of-towners don't understand city's climate
As a Christian and a member of the Mount Pleasant community, I take strong exception to the Rev. Charles E. Williams II and the Rev. David Pollack's heavily implied assertion that an inherently racist white community can not competently pursue an investigation of an alleged hate crime.
How dare they come into this community in the holy name of Jesus Christ and attempt to humiliate our respected law enforcement officers and officials into a rush to judgment!
By the way, does anyone remember the Duke lacrosse team? How many tens of millions of dollars will it ultimately cost the tax payers of Durham, S.C. and (how many) tuition dollars from the students of Duke University (are needed) to mop up the spilt sacramental wine and holy water left on the court room floor of that community by Pollack and Williams' carpet bagging brothers?
In closing, if it becomes apparent to me that this incident was not adjudicated properly I will be the first one to approach Mr. Burdick with my concerns and if necessary hold him personally accountable when he runs for re-election.
In the meantime this community must wait patiently for the investigation process to be brought to its necessary conclusion.

New radio station wanted,WCHB needs improving
In the last two years, I have listened to double voices (two stations playing at the same time), an exciting football game cut short in the last five minutes to air gospel music, a game starting near half-time, bad reception and finally this past Friday's game against Akron never aired at all on WCHB AM 1200 Detroit.
This station has a generic phone number servicing two other radio stations. You can not contact the station on Saturdays since nobody mans the phone. Messages left for the station manager are never returned.
If you are lucky enough to get through to the operator, you can't leave a message since the mailbox is full.
Southeast Michigan deserves a better affiliate station - please look to find an alternate.

A New Year's Resolution for a City
As we transition to the winter months and are unable to use our wonderful Chippewa River, are we considering the damage that is done to it every summer? We are not respecting an aspect of our home that, based upon the amount of human waste flowing abound, enjoy on a regular basis when the weather is right. (Continued…)
