DETROIT - In the end, they all were together. After the Central Michigan football team's 35-10 win against Miami University on Saturday at Ford Field, players and coaches alike celebrated at mid-field with hugs and high fives. As coach Butch Jones raised the Mid-American Conference championship trophy, the Chippewas let out a mighty cheer for their repeat title.

Judge William T. Ervin said he does not feel Lewis poses a threat to society, and prison time was not an appropriate punishment for Lewis' actions.

This year's Motor City Bowl will be a rematch. Purdue was selected Sunday as the Big Ten representative to play CMU on Dec. 26 at Ford Field in Detroit. The Boilermakers beat the Chippewas 45-22 on Sept. 15 in West Lafayette, Ind., when the two teams played earlier this season.

A suspect has been arrested and in connection with three burglaries that took place in Thorpe Hall, said Steve Smith, director of media relations. CMU Police said a second suspect has not been arrested in the burglaries that took place early Saturday morning.

Concentration, steady hands and a little creativity were the keys to Sunday's can castle building contest. Almost 1,000 cans from the event were donated to the Central Michigan Chapter of the American Red Cross food bank. Seven sororities competed to build the most creative castle using up to 200 cans and one extra item of their choice Sunday afternoon in Finch Fieldhouse.

Davis said the money she'll get from selling back her books this semester will most likely be spent on Christmas-related expenses.
