The Student Government Association elected two new senators Monday night at its general board meeting.

Dearborn sophomore Noble Elway Pegg and Kenockee freshman Jennifer Schmidt filled two of the eight possible spots.

Senate Leader and Montgomery junior Paul Pridgeon said he was happy two senators were elected, but would have liked more.

"If there's a need to call another general board meeting at the beginning of next semester, we might have another election," he said. "It would be nice to have another three people on the senate."

Pegg said he wants to make a change on campus.

"I really want to get involved around campus more and I want to make a change in students' lives," he said.

Pleasant Ridge sophomore Samantha Wunderlich nominated Pegg for the senate position.

Wunderlich said Pegg has no problem speaking up, is intelligent and can bring a lot of passion to the job.

Schmidt said she wanted to be a senator so she can find issues and correct them.

"I want to make a difference on campus and do my part," she said.
