Fire determined arson
at Cornerstone
A 6 a.m. fire Monday in Cornerstone University's Cook Hall in Grand Rapids was determined to be arson, according to the Wood TV News.
After 200 residents were evacuated, Grand Rapids fire investigators determined the smoke and water damage was close to $7,000.
There are no suspects in custody.
UM-Flint hopes to turn YouTube video into Super Bowl Commercial
University of Michigan-Flint is offering students a chance to turn their YouTube clips about their college experience into a Super Bowl Commercial, according to The Flint Journal.
"We're asking our students to be creative. We really want some authentic voices," said UM-Flint spokeswoman Jennifer Hogan.
The contest requires students to create a 29-second video ad on YouTube about the U-M experience. The winner's video ad will appear on Feb. 3 during the Super Bowl.
U-M absent in city schools since Proposal 2
Guidance counselors at Detroit public high schools are claiming admissions recruiters from University of Michigan haven't been there since the approval of Proposal 2, according to The Michigan Daily.
Dan Crosato, a guidance counselor at Crosman Alternative High School in Detroit told The Michigan Daily admissions recruiters haven't aggressively recruited since last year.
