Police still are looking for a suspect who robbed a Mount Pleasant credit union Friday.
A masked man entered NuUnion Credit Union, 1011 N. Harris St., approached a teller and demanded money.
The suspect was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, according to a Mount Pleasant Police Department press release. The robbery took place at about 5:30 p.m. Friday, near closing time for the bank. The bank closes at 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
"We haven't developed any suspects at this time," said Sgt. Dan Gaffka of the MPPD.
Gaffka said the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money on foot through the west doors of the credit union.
The suspect wore a black ski mask, goggles, gloves, dark pants and a blue coat, according to the press release. The suspect is described as a male with a medium build and a height of 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall.
Friday's robbery marked the area's second bank robbery in the last three months.
Chemical Bank, 1908 S. Mission St., was robbed Oct. 8.
In that case, police said a 28-year-old Roscommon man demanded money without the use of a weapon. The two banks are located in the same area, about one-and-a-half miles apart from each other.
Gaffka said he does not recall any previous robberies at the NuUnion.
NuUnion Credit Union officials could not be reached for comment Sunday.
