Thanks to volunteers
Issue date: 1/7/08 Section: Voices
Speaking for the Isabella County Commission on Aging staff and the older adults served, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our warmest thanks to several Central Michigan University groups.
The CMU men and women involved with Circle K, the Physical Therapy Student Association, Kesseler Hall, Eta Alpha Episilon, Student Environmental Alliance, Student Dietetics Association, American Marketing Association, the Volunteer Center, the English Language Institute, Eta Sigma Gamma, Alpha Kappa Psi, Alternative Breaks, Fabiano, Emmons and Woldt Hall Councils, His House Christian Fellowship, Honors Outreach Network, Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship, Best Buddies, Alpha Phi Omega, Beta Alpha Psi, Campus Religious Leaders, CMU International Students, Merrill and Larzelere Hall raked leaves, cleaned yards and washed windows for many older adults in Isabella County. Their hard work significantly eased the burdens older adults face daily in maintaining their homes.
The Physical Therapy Student Organization and Circle K cheerfully volunteered their time and talents to serve meals and wait tables for the Winn Dinner Dance sponsored by the Commission on Aging.
The enthusiasm and commitment to service by the students made these Commission on Aging projects a huge success! We received many positive comments regarding each group! The students touched the lives of many grateful older adults. Several services we provide would not be possible without the generosity and support of groups such as these outstanding CMU students. We appreciate everything they have done to help the Commission on Aging serve the older adults of Isabella County.
