Arson suspect prelim exam set for Jan. 31

Suspected arsonist Evan Thomas Dejardins' preliminary examination has been rescheduled for Jan. 31 at 9:30 p.m., according to Lance Dexter, Isabella County court administrator.
Larry Burdick, Isabella County prosecutor, said both attorney's met Tuesday morning. He said a new preliminary exam was scheduled at that time.
"The prelim will take most of the morning," Burdick said.
Ghazey Aleck, defense attorney, was not available for comment.
Desjardins is being charged with the suspected arson of Pizza King, 714 Preston St., on Sept. 21, 2007. Dexter said no charges were dropped and Desjardins will still be facing charges of arson preparation and larceny in a building.
