Editor's note: This is what happened this week in the history of CMU athletics.

Monday, Feb. 4, 1974

The men's basketball team beat Marshall 90-76 on Feb. 2 in Rose Arena.
Lenoard Drake and Dan Roundfield led CMU in points, scoring 16 and 14 respectively.
CMU (9-9 overall, 2-4 Mid-American Conference) gave Marshall (12-3) just its third loss of the season.

The wrestling team defeated Kent State 26-11 on Feb. 2 in Rose Arena.
Ed Hosey won by pinfall at 177 pounds.
John Ruhlig (150 pounds) and John Matthews (158 pounds), both MAC favorites, won.
Monday, Feb. 4, 1985
The women's basketball team beat Miami 78-63 at Rose Arena on Feb. 2.
CMU (12-7, 9-1 MAC) was led by junior Latanga Cox, who finished with 20 points and nine rebounds.
Senior Sylvia Odum finished with 15 points and Jody Beerman had nine rebounds.

The men's basketball team lost to Miami 69-59 on Feb. 2 in Rose Arena.
The team was lead by Derek Bolden and Greg Washington. Bolden finished with 16 points and Washington had 11.
The loss was the team's eighth in the last nine games.

Monday, Feb. 5, 1996
The men's basketball team lost to rival Western Michigan 73-61 in Rose Arena on Feb. 3.
The Broncos outrebounded the Chippewas 32-22, with CMU only grabbing two offensive rebounds.
CMU (5-13, 2-8 MAC) was lead by forward Charles Macon, who finished with 14 points and three rebounds.

The same night, the women's basketball lost to WMU 71-51 at Anderson Arena in Kalamazoo.
Tracy Renken led the Chippewas with 10 points.
