Andy Frisch said his brother-in-law Bradley "Burt" Scott Prout lived a simple life.

"He enjoyed the good things in life, like fishing," Frisch said. "He loved his snowmobile."

Prout, 40, died early Thursday morning at Central Michigan Community Hospital after his snowmobile ran into a parked truck.

The Rosebush resident was driving eastbound on Rosebush Road when he ran into a Chevrolet Silverado stuck roadside at 2:13 a.m. Thursday. Alcohol was a factor in the accident, according to the Isabella County Sheriff's Department.

Prout's passenger, Sean Michael Wilson, suffered unknown injuries.

Prout rode his snowmobile frequently, Frisch said. He spent last weekend in Sault St. Marie for a snowmobile race and spent time with friends snowmobiling whenever he could, Frisch said.

"He lived on the edge," Frisch said.

Family members gathered Thursday night at Prout's father's house.

Prout worked as a carpenter and was an entrepreneur in the mid-Michigan area.

Isabella County Undersheriff John Vinson said snowmobiling accidents are rare.

"I believe this is the first snowmobiling death this year," Vinson said.

Prout is survived by his two daughters, Morgan and Emily, who attend Mount Pleasant Public Schools.

"He was an active part in their life," Vinson said.

Visitation will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Leaton United Methodist Church, 6890 E. Beal City Road. Funeral services will begin after Saturday's visitation at the church.

Contributions can be made to help offset funeral costs and support his two daughters at Lux Funeral Home, 503 E. Broadway Road.
