The women's basketball team committed 19 turnovers and was whistled for 32 fouls Wednesday in its 87-82 loss against Bowling Green at Rose Arena.
The Chippewas hung with the first-place Falcons for most of the game, but BGSU's star duo of Lauren Prochaska and Kate Achter combined for 38 points and shot a combined 19 for 21 from the free throw line.
"We didn't win the game," said coach Sue Guevara. "But we can play with them."
CMU was led by junior guard Angel Chan, who finished with 22 points while playing all 40 minutes. Chan scored 20-plus points for the second consecutive game.
Sophomore forward Britni Houghton added 16 points, with 14 coming in the second half after sitting the majority of the first because of foul trouble.
Senior guard Candace Wilson finished with 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
