"Half Baked"
comedian to perform
Comedian Jim Breuer will bring laughs to CMU with his Breuniversity Tour stop in Mount Pleasant. The "Half Baked" star and former "Saturday Night Live" cast member will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday in Warriner Hall's Plachta Auditorium. The 2008 Breuniversity Tour focuses on stops at universities across the Midwest and East coast. Tickets are $10 for students and $20 for the general public and are available at the Central Box Office in the Bovee University Center.

Phi Mu
Broomball for charity
Phi Mu is hosting its ninth annual Broomball Tournament at 11 p.m. Saturday at the Isabella County Events Arena, 5165 E. Remus Road. The tournament is a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network. Anyone with questions can contract Alicia Nantelle at nante1am@cmich.edu.

non-English speakers
The Writing Center and Department of English Language and Literature are hosting "Writing Across Borders," a presentation on the experiences of non-English students. The video presentation and discussion will take place at 6 p.m. Sunday in Anspach 162. The presentation will include a question and answer session with English as a second language. Boarding competition
RPL department hosts event to raise money for charity
The recreation, parks and leisure department is hosting a snowboarding competition at 1 p.m. Sunday at Snow Snake Mountain, 3407 E. Mannsiding Road, in Harrison. Free T-shirts will be given to the first 50 participants and a 50/50 raffle also will take place. The event is $10 and does not include lift tickets. The first place winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Mountain Boards and Bikes, 1901 S. Mission St. E-mail Jake LeCureaux at lecur1jw@cmich.edu with any questions.

Martial arts
competition tonight
King of the Cage, a mixed-martial arts competition, will take place at 8 p.m. today at Soaring Eagle Casino, 6800 Soaring Eagle Blvd. Fighters trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and wrestling, as well as other fighting styles, will be featured in the event.
