Damon Brown, coordinator of student activities for the Office of Student Life, said about 1,100 people watched the comedian perform Saturday night.
Breuer said he appreciated the crowd and what it brought to the show.
"They had a lot of enthusiasm, they were high energy and they were brutally honest," he said.
CMU was one of Breuer's stops for his Bruniversity Tour, which runs through the East Coast and Midwest.
He started his routine off with a joke about Flint and its current condition.
"That poor city lost a bet," Breuer said.
He went on to discuss his time working on the movie "Half Baked" with Dave Chappelle, his time on "Saturday Night Live" and many things dealing with family and growing up.
Breuer, who has three children, talked about the ups and downs of having kids. He recounted one time when his kids put his shirt over his head while he was sleeping and then made him play with them.
He also jokingly said he doesn't watch the news anymore because of the negativity around it.
"Learn by experience, not by the video," he said.
One of the biggest topics he talked about was drinking. He joked about sneaking into his parents house when he was in high school after staying out late drinking.
"There is so much at stake there," he said.
Breuer warned the crowd that a person's stomach is the bouncer for their body when drinking.
"You don't want to piss off the bouncer," Breuer said.
Sterling Heights senior Steve Addington said the bouncer joke was his favorite part of the show.
"Anything that talked about drinking - that was all funny," he said.
Breuer also talked about his first encounter with pornography and how far off it is from actual sex.
"That (stuff) never happens … maybe once," he said.
Breuer ended the show by making his hand resemble figures such as a dog and a three-armed baseball umpire.
"As dumb as that is, everyone's going to try it later," he said with a smile.
After the show, 25 raffle winners each brought a friend and met with Breuer for a meet and greet. He signed autographs, took pictures and joked with his fans.
