There will be plenty of things going on in Mount Pleasant for those stuck in the area during spring break.

Aside from the normal activities such as ice skating, pottery painting and sledding, there will be some different attractions to check out.

The Jordan World Circus will be performing at 5:30 p.m. Sunday in Finch Fieldhouse.

The circus will have clowns, animals, aerialists, acrobats and more.

Big Rapids sophomore Kate Harris of University Events said while there are no student discounts available, businesses around town will have vouchers for a free child admission with the purchase of an adult admission.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $10 for children.

"Tickets go on sale one hour before the performance," Harris said.

Home Show 2008

The Home Builders Association of Central Michigan will set up shop in CMU's Indoor Athletic Complex for the 2008 Home Show.

"There will be anything and everything that has to do with home building," said Carmelina Crisci, executive officer of HBA. "We expect about 200 vendors."

Crisci said the show will house a number of local vendors for home needs such as cabinetry, landscaping, painting and flooring.

The show will be 5:30 to 9 p.m. March 7, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 8 and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 9.

Tickets are $2 in advance of $3 at the door. There is free admission for children 16 years or younger with the purchase of an adult ticket.

Crisci said advanced tickets can be purchased at several Mount Pleasant area businesses including Ric's Food Center, 705 S. Mission St., Pro Hardware, 118 S. Main St. and the HBA Office, 2026 Independence Dr.

Campers and Trailers

The Mount Pleasant Camper and Trailer Show will take place March 7-9 in Finch Fieldhouse.

Recreational vehicles from local vendors will be featured along with campers and trailers.

The show will be from noon to 9 p.m. on March 7 and noon to 5 p.m. March 8 and March 9. Admission to the show is free.
