Madison Heights freshman Kayla Martines said everyone affects the climate and because of this we will have to deal with the consequences.

"Geologists are saying what is happening," Knapp said. "But we do not have the solution."

The forum made it clear there is not one ultimate energy solution.

"There are no silver bullets to the issue," said Presidential Candidate Barack Obama in the video. "We need to be exploring numerous options."

Ithaca sophomore Meghan Wideman agreed the problem with all the new technology and alternative fuel ideas is that it takes about 25 to 30 years to come into play.

"It is going to take years for our country to develop a high efficiency fuel," Wideman said. "We need a strong plan to get us closer."

White Lake freshman Rachel Miller, who went to the forum for extra credit in her PSC 105: Introduction to American Government and Politics class, said people are not concerned enough.

"People do not see this issue as a problem," Miller said. "If no one is upset over this, nothing is going to get done."
