Ryan Green and Cameron Hood, also known as Ryanhood, are bringing their acoustic guitar show to CMU.
Hood and Green were once competitors in the music world before they came together in 2003. Ryanhood began playing in subway stations then began touring theaters with various artists.
They'll perform at 9 p.m. today in the Towers' Real Food on Campus. Admission is free.
On The Fly Productions is sponsoring the show.
"They both play and sing duet, and they're amazing," said Cristina D'Aristotile, OTF public relations chair member and Sterling Heights senior. "I saw them perform last semester at a programming conference that On The Fly attended. We decided to book them immediately because we knew they'd be a big hit on our campus."
Ryanhood has performed with various artists, including platinum selling artist Jason Mraz, and is set to record its upcoming record with Grammy award-winning producer Ross Hogarth.
Following the show, audience members will have an opportunity to meet with Ryanhood as well as ask them a few questions.
Muskegon junior Sam Wiener plans on attending the concert.
"I like the style of their music because it is sort of chill and relaxing," Wiener said. "It is something you can listen to when you do stuff like homework."
Currently, Ryanhood is on a nationwide tour performing at various college campuses and private events.
The RFoC is a popular place to bring acts like Ryanhood because of the location and large amounts of students located in that area.
Hamilton sophomore Matt Dejonge said he enjoys it.
"It is close, which is nice," Dejonge said. "It is good social entertainment, it gives me something to do and it is enjoyable. They bring in someone for everyone. I probably will not be attending because I don't like that type of music, but a lot of people do."
D'Aristotile said she encourages students to attend because she knows they will enjoy what they hear.
"We're really looking forward to them coming to campus," D'Aristotile said. "We know the audience will enjoy their beautiful and upbeat harmonies."
