If they could have any wild animal as a pet could you name it? If they could prevent any TV show from airing do you know what it would be?
Students found out just how well they knew each other Wednesday night at O'Kellys Sports Bar and Grill, 2000 S. Mission St., during the "Who Knows Who Best?" competition organized by a RPL 430: Recreation Programming class.
"It's like 'The Newlywed Game' with friends and college students," said Boyne City Junior Michael Grobaski.
The teams were seated in booths with dividers down the middle so they couldn't see each other, and when asked questions wrote down what they thought their partner would say.
"Basically contestant A asks contestant B a question and contestant B has 30 seconds to write the answer on a dry erase board, and then they check to see if the answer is right," Grobaski said.
Boyne City senior Dustin Moore and Boyne City sophomore Mark Gaudard won the competition.
The duo said winning the game wasn't too hard because they've known each other for 16 years.
"It was easy," Gaudard said.
Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services instructor Tim Otteman teaches the class that organized the event.
"This allows students to learn marketing, risk management and mission statement goals," Otteman said. "They get to apply what's in the classroom to real life."
The students also get to help out the community. The $10 participant fee raised money for Women's Aid Service, Inc. of Mount Pleasant.
Bloomfield Hills sophomore Alli Badgero is in the class and helped come up with the program.
"It's an original idea," Badgero said. "Not many people have done this in the past."
Badgero was in charge of raffle tickets and said the competition was successful.
"We sold over $200 in raffle tickets just in round one," Badgero said. "A lot more people came than I thought: the atmosphere at O'Kelly's really helps."
Prizes included tickets to Lifehouse, giftcards, and a chocolate flavored candle.
"I thought it was fun. It was different, but what else is going to happen at O'Kelly's at 8 p.m.?," Moore said.
Wednesday's competition is one of many programs the class has created. Others include an Easter egg hunt, basketball tournament, paintball and stand-up comedy show.
