Student dies of cancer
Hillsdale student Dylan Lindgren, 22, died after fighting Hodgkin's lymphoma for a year and a half, according to The Collegian.
Hodgkin's lymphoma is a cancer that spreads from one lymph to the other. This cancer has a cure rate of 93 percent.
Lindgren was diagnosed in 2005. His disease worsened this year and he was taken to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.
Lindgren's girlfriend of four months, Abby Turnbull, said he impacted every person who visited him when he was at the hospital.
"There were at least 20 people trying to visit him at one time. The nurses were like bouncers," Turnbull said.
Lindgren was given honorary alumnus status before he died because he was unable to graduate.
The Facebook.com group "Dylan Lindgren" still remains open for students to most memories and pictures of him.
