Seven seniors have built the CMU wrestling program into a national power in the last four years. During their tenure at CMU, Brandon Carter, Luke Smith, Brandon Sinnott, Christian Sinnott, Wynn Michalak and Bubba Gritter have elevated the CMU program to a level it has never reached before.
Brown contributes in postseason

Opportunities do not come often on a nationally-ranked team. So when Steve Brown got his, he didn't miss it. After a limited number of matches during the regular season, the sophomore 157-pounder stepped in for injured sophomore Tyler Grayson at the team's dual against Tennessee-Chattanooga.

Coach Tom Borrelli is losing seven of his most talented wrestlers to graduation. Fortunately for Borrelli, the influence of five of his seniors will not be limited by eligibility. Luke Smith, Brandon Sinnott, Christian Sinnott, Wynn Michalak and Bubba Gritter all plan on being involved with CMU wrestling next season.
Winter weather postpones opener

Today's home opener against Wayne State would have marked the earliest baseball game played in Mount Pleasant since 2001, when Central beat Oakland 8-3 on the same date. However, with spring one day away, the winter weather had other plans. CMU was scheduled to begin its home schedule with a 3 p.

The gymnastics team is slowly getting healthier as the culmination of its season approaches. With only one meet before the Mid-American Conference Championships, coach Jerry Reighard said CMU's team is beginning to look like the one he expected to have at the beginning of the season.

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) -- Jeremy Goode scored 21 points and Mount St. Mary's got its first NCAA tournament victory, beating Coppin State 69-60 in an opening round game matching two teams that know a lot about losing. The Mountaineers (19-14) won their last five games to shed their losing record and make the tournament, then got the one victory that's always been well out of reach.
Toledo fires Joplin as head coach
TOLEDO, Ohio - University of Toledo men's basketball coach Stan Joplin was fired Monday after 12 years. A year ago, Joplin was named the Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year, but his Rockets finished this season 11-19 and UT athletic director Mike O'Brien called the last recruiting class a disappointment.
