Deadline
Course withdrawal due today
The course withdrawal deadline is at 5 p.m. today at the Registrar's Office, Warriner Hall 212, or at the Student Service Court. This deadline is for individual 16-week courses and complete semester courses. Students who elect this option will receive an automatic "W" on their transcript. Individual class withdrawals and class withdrawal forms will not be accepted after the deadline ends.

Today is the last day Sexual Aggression Peer Advocates will accept applicants for the Fall 2008 semester. If interested, please go to SAPA's Web site, sapa.cmich.edu. SAPA has a 24-hour crisis hotline which students may call at 774-2255.

Dillon considered
for removal
House Speaker Andy Dillon, D-Redford Township, is the target of an aggressive recall campaign after last fall's votes in the capitol to raise taxes $1.4 billion after Michigan's budget crisis. In order to remove the House speaker, 8,724 signatures are necessary within the next 40 days from registered voters in Redford Township and Dearborn Heights, which he also represents. Dillon's supporters are working on a counter-effort as well.

Fattah will speak in Pierpont Auditorium
Political Science Assistant Professor Moataz Fattah will speak at 1 p.m. today in the Pierpont Auditorium in the Applied Business Studies Complex as part of the economics department seminar series. Fattah will give a speech entitled, "The Developmental Democratic State in Egypt and Tunisia."

Andrzej Wieckowski, who teaches at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will host a seminar on the topic of "Fuel Cell Science in Perspective of New Spectroscopic Techniques: BB-SFG" from 2 to 3 p.m. today in Dow 175.

Hawaiian roller luau skate for teens
You might be greeted with 'Aloha' at a Hawaiian roller luau skate for teens from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Spinning Wheels Roller Arena. This event will benefit the Young Teens Network of Mount Pleasant and is put together by students in RPL 430: Recreation Programming. There will be games, raffles and prizes.
