Senior Brandon Sinnott repeated as an All-American at 174-pounds. After losing to the fourth seed in the afternoon session, Sinnott bounced back to beat Northern Iowa's Alex Dolly 7-3 in the quarterfinal of the wrestleback bracket, before winning a 3-1 decision over Hoftra's Alton Lucas in sudden victory in the semifinal.
"I'm happy I was able to bounce back from that bad loss I had earlier," Brandon said. "It feels good to be a two time All-American and be able to help out the team."
After losing a somewhat controversial match to top seeded Dustin Fox in his first match of the day, Bubba Gritter earned his second All-American accolades in dominating fashion.
With four takedowns, a near fall and more than three minutes of riding time, Gritter defeated John Wise from Illinois 11-2.
Gritter will wrestle for seventh place Saturday.
Senior Brandon Carter fell one win short of being named an All-American at 149 pounds. Carter lost 11-3 to No. 9 seed Lance Palmer of Ohio State. Carter finished 3-2 in his second national tournament.
A takedown and near fall as time expired put an end to junior Trevor Stewart's first trip to the NCAA tournament. Stewart and No. 6 seed Jonathan Reader were locked up in a third period tie at one before Reader's late takedown gave him a 5-1.
Luke Smith and Conor Beebe both lost matches in the Friday's opening session, knocking them out of the competition.
