"The swap has definitely exceeded our expectations," said Watervliet senior and Alpha Phi Omega Vice-President of Membership, Amanda Rodriguez.
Thursday was the first day of the two-day swap.
CMU students can bring in items of clothing they no longer want and receive a ticket for every item they donated.
The tickets allow students to pick out items of clothing they may want.
Students who do not donate anything can pay $1 to purchase items they may like.
Though the swap has made about $10, members are focusing more on the items donated than the money received.
"It's not for money or to make a profit, it's for the Goodwill," said Livonia sophomore Rebecca Grabowski.
The clothing swap will continue until 5 p.m. today in the Bovee University Center's Isabella Room.
"We wanted to do something fun and we wanted people to feel like they were giving back to the community," Rodriguez said.
Some of the items that have been donated include a Nine West belt, an Aèropostale hooded sweatshirt and an Abercrombie & Fitch T-shirt.
Manistique junior Nicole Schnurer donated three shirts to the clothing swap.
"The Fashion Association of Merchandising and Design had a thrift sale (Wednesday)," Schnurer said. "So I figured that I'd contribute (Thursday)."
Hartland freshman Sarah Kirkpatrick has been going around her residence hall collecting clothes for the swap.
"I've been going around the HPRC (Health Professions Residential College) and just grabbing clothes; I do it every night," Kirkpatrick said.
The clothes left over and money made from the swap are going to be donated to Goodwill.
Members of co-ed fraternity Alpha Phi Omega think today's turnout will be greater than Thursday's.
