"I think given the margin of victory that it wouldn't have changed the results because it hurt both tickets equally," he said.
Pridgeon said he hopes Verburg and Dooley continue their participation with SGA.
"Regardless of what they do on campus, they will make some impact," he said.
Verburg said considering the gap between votes, the glitch probably did not affect the results.
Zeig said Pridgeon and Sjoquist know what they are doing and are excited to bring new ideas to the group.
"I hope that Verburg and Dooley stay involved because they are an asset to the group and I would hate to lose two good members," he said.
Verburg said he still plans on being a student leader on campus, and will continue to try to make changes where they need to be made.
Other official-elects
Muskegon senior Sean Nolan ran uncontested and was elected treasurer with 1,414 votes. Ten senators also were elected.
The elected senators are Edmore senior Philip Browne, Jr., Flat Rock sophomore Andrew Hickman, Livonia sophomore Keith Spankowski, Garden City freshman Brittany Mouzourakis, Clay freshman Terrence Foster, Muskegon sophomore David Breed, Coopersville sophomore Douglas Booth, Saginaw freshman Amanda Oberski, Illinois sophomore Allison White and Dearborn sophomore Noble Elway Pegg.
Constitution change
Voters also approved a constitutional amendment to update the SGA impeachment process, with 340 votes.
Pridgeon said the change to the impeachment process was a small one, but it had to be done.
"We changed that you can't impeach the senate leader, house leader and representatives because they are not elected by the student body," he said. "We also talked about the fact that we never had a requirement on how much of a vote we needed to impeach, so now there is a two-thirds vote in general board."
