"I though he pitched well for us," he said. "He gave us the opportunity."
The team's lack of offense in the first game perplexed Jaksa.
"I can't explain it," Jaksa said. "We just couldn't figure (the pitcher) out. We had about three-to-four opportunities to tie, but we couldn't get it."
Buffalo's Jeffery Hains started and last 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing only five hits and no runs. He also added three strike outs and three walks.
The Bulls took the lead in the sixth inning when Kevin McCall singled to right and scored when Rob Mancini doubled down the leftfield line.
Central was able to stay in the game behind the performance of senior right-handed pitcher Eric Lawrence. He ended the game with eight innings pitched, giving up one earned run on five hits. He also struck out four and walked one.
"Eric Lawrence pitched a great game for us," Jaksa said.
The team does not have long to dwell on its losses over the weekend as it returns home for a 3 p.m. Tuesday game against Hillsdale College.
"We always look forwards, but this still stings," Taylor said. "We expect to win MAC games. It sticks with us and leaves an impression on us. Something as to change; we need to start to score more runs with guys in place."
