Students had some interesting experiences Wednesday in the Bovee University Center's Down Under Food Court.
The Psychic Fair was free to both staff and students and part of the Second Annual Program Board Week.
"(Program Board Week) is a way to raise awareness and push us as an organization that can put on multiple events in one week" stated Sterling Heights senior and Daytime Special Events Chair Carolyn Seppey.
Five different psychics, one from Grand Rapids and the rest from up-state New York, were present for this particular event, which Seppey said is always a big hit.
Students who arrived at the event were asked to sign in and then were given a ten minute segment with a psychic.
Once placed with a psychic, the participant had a few options, such as a tarot card, palm, or past life readings.
Saint Johns senior Danielle Falor had a past life reading.
"It was very interesting….definitely interesting." she said.
Falor said she believes that some aspects of mysticism are real.
"I have my own tarot cards that I use when I am bored. They're pretty accurate; it sometimes freaks people out," she said.
India senior Diana Thomas received a tarot card reading.
"I had had it done back home [in India] and I wanted to see how differently they predict things over here."
Thomas said she wasn't satisfied with her reading.
"It was really general. There were no specific points and no specific answers" Thomas said.
Farmington Hills sophomore Joe Albrecht was very skeptical about the readings.
"(It's) interesting to keep your eyes open for to see if it really happens," he said.
