CMU tied the game in the fourth when freshman designated hitter Matt Faiman's sacrifice groundout scored Anderson.
But the Falcons broke the game open in the fifth inning, as they scored four runs on five hits off Lawrence. The Falcons added two more in the sixth inning and two in the eighth.
CMU scored once more in the seventh and got a runner on the ninth, but was unable to make a comeback.
Stovall went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a walk. Helps also ended with three hits and scored a run.
Game 2 Saturday: CMU 6, BGSU 2
The second game was dominated by junior left-hander Dan Taylor, who pitched a complete game en route to Central's 6-2 win.
"He pitched a heck of a game," Jaksa said.
Taylor gave up eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts, while allowing only two earned runs.
"After losing the first game, I had to go out there and get a win," Taylor said. "The guys made some great plays - it was a great team effort."
Taylor got off to a rough start, giving up a home run to the first batter he faced. He then settled down to retire nine of the next 10 batters.
Central took the lead away by scoring three in the fourth inning by stringing together three hits. Senior first baseman Sean Hoorelbeke and senior designated hitter Jeff Nowaczyk both doubled to right field. Anderson also had an RBI single in the inning.
The Chippewas added three more in the eighth, which included a pinch-hit, two-run single from Faiman.
Central has a day off today before it returns to Theunnissen Stadium at 3 p.m. Tuesday to face the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Jaksa has not yet named a starter for the game.
