CMU dropped Thursday's opener, meaning it would need to take the next two games or split and hope for some help to make the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

The Central Michigan baseball team lost 4-2 to Kent State Wednesday in the Mid-American Conference Tournament's first round. CMU scored two runs in the first inning, but left 10 runners on base to go scoreless the rest of the way. The Chippewas managed just three hits, all of which came against MAC Pitcher of the Year Chris Carpenter in his five innings of work.
Men and Women each take fifth at MAC Championships in Ohio

Central Michigan's men and women each finished fifth Saturday in the Mid-American Conference outdoor track championships at Whittaker Track in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Men were led by junior Abraham Mach's third straight 800-meter title. Mach ran a preliminary time of 1 minute, 50.

Central Michigan has scored 26 runs in its last two games and looks to take that offensive momentum into today's Mid-American Conference opener with No. 1 seed Kent State (33-20). Number eight seed CMU will take the field for the final game of the day at 7:30 p.
