Officers too quickly used force against tailgater
The recent arrest of Tyrone Graham-Jones is an example of a poorly managed situation that quickly escalated out of control. Graham-Jones, who is now out on bail and is charged with disrupting the peace and resisting and obstructing an officer, was acting in self-defense after a group of rowdy tailgaters in the way of his car began harassing him, according to numerous witnesses.

Health benefits extended for same-sex domestic partners
The Central Michigan University administration decided to extend health benefits for same-sex domestic partners. The benefits policy, which begins Oct. 1, is a broader policy that covers eligible CMU employees who "carry the burden of responsibility for" a person, who is not "recognized in any other setting.
