Every night during Homecoming week, teams from across campus come out to compete for the crown jewel of Homecoming Week: the Maroon Cup. So far this year, Barnes Hall currently has 220 points, leading Calkins Hall by 110 points with four events remaining.

Delta Chi President Adam Militello said four members and one female guest were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-threatening life injuries and were released this morning.

Two CMU brothers file not guilty plea for unarmed robbery charges

The two Central Michigan University brothers charged with unarmed robbery, larceny and breaking and entering a motor vehicle filed not guilty pleas Thursday in the Isabella County Courthouse, 200 N. Main St. According to court documents both brothers stand mute to the charges and requests the court enter pleas of not guilty.

Homecoming 2008 has 'magical' touch

Escalante uses motivation to inspire audience members

The well-known movie "Stand and Deliver" is based from mathematics teacher Jaime Escalante's dedication to help his academically troubled students succeed. But this Bolivian born teacher was famous even before his name hit the big screen. On Wednesday night, in Warriner Hall's Plachta auditorium, approximately 900 audience members heard Escalante's story, as he described his challenging journey in Garfield High School in East Los Angeles.

Police reports Alleged armed robber in court Thursday Anthony Lee Campbell, 22, of Mount Pleasant, appeared in court yesterday on the charge of armed robbery. Detroit police picked up Campbell two weeks ago on a bench warrant from an incident on Sept. 14, when Campbell allegedly pulled a handgun on a man near the corner of Isabella and Bluegrass roads in Union Township, police reported.

Faculty show solidarity through luncheon Thursday

Sunshine and blue skies Tuesday added to the light-hearted atmosphere many faculty members hoped to create at a group picnic in Central Park. About 35 faculty members - and one instructor's canine companion - came out for the come-and-go picnic. CMU master plan to be updated in 2009

The Central Michigan University Master Plan will be updated by April 2009 with help from students. Linda Slater, director of plant engineering and planning, said the Master Plan will set the strategic direction for CMU's campus. No CMU investments frozen in bank accounts

Students promote 'Power Vote'

Environmentally conscious students are on campus this week to promote student awareness of "green" issues in the upcoming election. The Energy Action Coalition and Global Exchange Coalition teamed up with Central Michigan University's Student Environmental Alliance to set up the wind turbines earlier this week as a part of the Power Vote campaign.
