Men’s basketball team falls to rival WMU, eliminated in MAC Tournament quarterfinals for third consecutive season

Men’s basketball loses game, MAC West lead


A 18-0 second-half run was not enough for the CMU men’s basketball team Wednesday at Ball State.

The Chippewas lost 69-63 to the Cardinals and are now a game behind BSU in the Mid-American Conference West Division standings.

Men’s basketball snaps three-game losing streak


The CMU men’s basketball team’s defense led it to a 63-46 victory against Toledo Sunday in Rose Arena.

The Chippewas held the Rockets to 35.7 percent shooting, and 3-for-10 from the 3-point line.

Harman has career night in loss at Ohio


A career night by Robbie Harman was not enough for the CMU men’s basketball team Thursday in Athens, Ohio.

The senior guard scored a career-high 31 points in the team’s 89-76 loss to Ohio in the Convocation Center.

Men’s basketball loses against first-place Kent State


0The CMU men’s basketball team lost the battle for Mid-American Conference supremacy Saturday night at Rose Arena.
The Chippewas lost 68-63 against Kent State in front of 3,142.
The Golden Flashes (17-7, 8-2 MAC) came into the game a half game ahead of CMU (11-10, 6-3 MAC) in the MAC standings.

Poor shooting hurts women’s basketball in loss


The CMU women’s basketball team lost its third consecutive road game Saturday, losing 60-52 against Buffalo at Alumni Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.

CMU had a tough time putting the ball in the basket for the second straight game, shooting just 26.8 percent from the field and 14.3 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Women’s basketball loses at Akron


The CMU women’s basketball team lost its 11th game away from Rose Arena Thursday, losing 62-55 against Akron in front of 427 at Rhodes Arena in Akron, Ohio.

With the loss, CMU is now 8-13 overall and 5-4 in the Mid-American Conference and moves back into third place in the West Division, two games behind leader Toledo.
