If the Board of Trustees were appointed by a private party, they would be held accountable for their decisions. CMU would also have to focus on it’s strengths to keep open.

University officials keep budget cut suggestions from students


Students continue to be denied information from the CMU administration. The suggestions for the 3, 6, 9 percent budget cuts should be shared with the entire campus community instead of being kept in secret.

CMU seeking refunds for Brooks Hall mistakes


Central Michigan University will seek refunds from Wilcox Professional Services for mistakes made last year in the Brooks Hall renovations.

“We do feel we have a suit against the design group,” said Trustee Brian Fannon on Thursday at a meeting of the Board.

Taylor International Academy gets go-ahead, has to wait for school to close


Taylor International Academy now has an official charter.

The Central Michigan University Board of Trustees on Thursday granted a charter school contract to the academy, which will be in Southfield.

Gail Torreano should step down from Board of Trustees


Gail Torreano missed yesterday’s Board of Trustees meeting. If she is unable to come CMU and be part of the decision-making with the rest of the board, she should resign from her position.

Medical school, budget reduction suggestions on agenda for board meeting


Budget reduction suggestions and a formal establishment of the College of Medicine are topics slated for Thursday’s Board of Trustees meeting. The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the President’s Conference Room at Bovee University Center.
