Plachta Auditorium show sold out since January for Posner, Big Sean


Mike Posner and Big Sean’s concert Thursday has been sold out for more than a month.
“I’m not surprised by how fast it sold out,” said Amanda Birkner, a Goodrich senior and public relations co-chair for On The Fly Productions.

The passion of Mignone: Professor works to recreate works of famous Brazilian composer


Alexandra Mascolo-David had a trying journey in resurrecting the works of Brazilian composer Francisco Mignone. A professor with the School of Music at Central Michigan University, Mascolo-David received a Research Excellence Fund grant for more than $94,000 in 2007 from the Office of Special Research and Programs for her efforts.

Internet changed the face of music


Music, like many other facets of pop culture, has seen a whirlwind of trends and stylistic changes over the past ten years.

Early in the 2000s, airwaves were dominated by pop-punk bands such as Blink 182 and Sum 41, rap-rock hybrids such as Limb Bizkit and Korn and boy bands and teen popsters such as The Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync and Britney Spears.
