Women’s soccer player organizes fundraiser for breast cancer awareness


Breast cancer is a disease that affects more than just the thousands of people diagnosed with it. Stephanie Martin lost a mother who always cheered her on when Laura Martin passed away from breast cancer on June 28, 2007 at age 52.

Top five CMU sports moments of 2009


The 2009 edition of CMU athletics brought the university three Mid-American Conference Championships (football, soccer and wrestling), two top 25 finishes (football and wrestling) and three athletes earn All-America honors (Mike Miller, Scotti Sentes and Greg Pilling).

With success ranging from individual performances to team triumpth, 2009 will a memorable one for the Chippewas. Here are the year’s top five sports stories.

Four things that the editorial board is thankful for


This past semester has had a few events that the editorial board is thankful for. Students standing up for their rights, president Wilbur having open forums, the Central Alert System being fixed and the soccer team is among the things to be thankful for.

Soccer team should be proud, despite second-round loss


The CMU soccer team lost to No. 5 Notre Dame in the first round of the playoffs. The soccer team shouldn’t be discouraged though, as they’ve proved themselves as a force during this season. Congratulations to the team on being MAC Champions.
