This is by far the best layout I’ve seen all year. I LOVE what you did with the gymnastics photo page in sports! The His House photo layout was also excellent. It’s great to so many photos in the paper! Nice job, CM Life!

Full-time temporary adjunct faculty will NOT get a raise, if they are even re-hired for the next academic year. This was announced today before President Ross met with representatives of the Union of Teaching Faculty.

  • Who writes your headlines?

Why does the baseball refer say VICTORY: CMU defeats State when the caption and the story say CMU got slaughtered. Kind of an odd photo choice to show they lost, but I guess they are really excited they lost?

  • Who writes your headlines?

Seriously though how did a celebrations shot and a headline saying Victory: CMU… make it on the front page without anyone catching it. LOL

Quick Question: Why does the online version say U.S. Senate 46 Republicans, 51 Democrats and the print version say 51 Republicans, 46 Democrats?

That girl on page 5 is a FOX.

I always thought something was up when I went in for interviews around campus and had secretaries inform me before the interview that I was not going to receive the job, because I’m male. I started to notice the massive amounts of professors and faculty that have feminist backgrounds, in fact in the last two years I have only had one class that wasn’t taught by someone who, in their syllabus, claimed to have a feminist background. Has CMU allowed for radical feminism to roam the halls under the guise of equality? I’m all for the feminist movement to place the sexes on equal footing, but when you go for an interview, especially at a government funded location, you shouldn’t know before hand that your sex is the reason you won’t be getting the job.

It seems to me that the secretary/ies were perhaps being inappropriate, because it’s not their job to be making statements about a hiring process that someone else more than likely will be conducting. It’s unfortunate in that they were doing that, and they should be called out for it. What we don’t know is if they were doing that because someone else in some other office directed them to say that. If a position is open and an interview process is going to be open and fair, it should be. If requirements are going to be placing limitations for certain appropriate positions that should be openly stated in some form (advertizement, published statement, etc) of job listing.   Mary Irvine, CMU Alum
