Minor accident on east campus intersection

A rear end collision at the intersection of E. Campus Drive and Preston St. resulted in one woman suffering a minor head injury.

At 10:44 a.m. Tuesday, the Central Michigan University Police Department received a call of an accident on the east side of CMU's campus. CMUPD officers and the Mount Pleasant Fire Department arrived on-scene minutes later and had the crash site cleared for traffic by 11:15 a.m.

CMUPD Sgt. Trent Case said a Chevy Cobalt was stopped eastbound on Preston St. when signaled left to turn northbound on E. Campus Drive. The vehicle was struck from behind by a Chevy Trailblazer before making the turn, causing the driver of Trailblazer to hit her head.

She was taken the MidMichigan Medical Center in Alma for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle suffered no injuries.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.
