Two children were involved in a two-car crash in Isabella County Thursday, resulting in a Mount Pleasant man being flown to Saginaw hospital for treatment.

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-car traffic crash on E. Deerfield Rd. at S. Lincoln Rd. Ella Hope Recker, 3-years-old from and Lilly Jo Recker, under one-year-old were passengers in Mount Pleasant native Joseph Recker’s pickup. Neither of them received any injuries.

A vehicle driven by Joshua Betts, a Mount Pleasant man, was traveling east on Deerfield Rd. and did not stop at a stop sign on Lincoln Rd. Betts hit a vehicle driven by Recker, who was traveling north on Lincoln Rd.

Both vehicles ran off the road and hit a tree. Betts was trapped in his car and had to be extricated by the Mount Pleasant Fire Department. He sustained leg injuries and other possible injuries as a result of the accident.

He was flown by LifeNet to Covenant Hospital. None of his injuries are expected to be life-threatening. The Recker’s had minor injuries and were transported to McLaren-Central Michigan by MMR.
